Please add me, I am TTC #1!

Name: Heidi (Age 28)
Date: Sept 2
Chart: All my charts are on paper, I may transfer them online eventually...
Where are you in your cycle: 5 DPO
Appointments: none
Symptoms if they apply: sore breasts since 1 DPO... I usually have soreness a few days before my period but I have never had them so soon after O. This feels different from the soreness I get before my period though.
Testing: Will test at 9 DPO since that is the day I would expect to my period, my LP is often 8 days (I hope this doesn't cause any problems with TTC).
Thoughts: This is my first cycle ever TTC and I am sooo excited! I got married in August and I just got back from my honeymoon, it was very convenient to TTC during the honeymoon! I am having trouble getting decent temps now that I am back as I am still jetlagged from the trip to Europe and waking up at strange hours like 4am. However this breast soreness is really unusual for me so I am very optimistic about this first cycle of trying!

Hello! I am new over here. I lurked a little bit here and now that my husband and I are actively TTC I figure I should get a little bit more active.

Please add! I'm TTC #1

Name: Julia (25)
Date: Sept 3rd
Chart: On my computer only
Where are you in your cycle: CD21
Appointments: Not yet
Symptoms if they apply: Temp spike today!? I thought I had a few days more at least but my cycle length has been slowly declining since I went off the pill. From 43, to 38, to 35.
Testing: I'm not sure...need to wait and see what my temp does!
Thoughts: Actively TTC is strange. I spent so much time trying NOT to get pregnant and now I'm obsessing about it. Scheduling everything around TTC and charting and phew. It's pretty exhausting. I've also been told by my mother that our family is "Fertile Myrtle" which adds a nice bit of a pressure, don't you think?

Friday Check-In TGIF~
Name: Kaydove
Date:9/3
Chart: http://tcoyf.com/members/kaydove/pccharts/9.aspx
Where are you in your cycle: CD 2
Appointments: Naturalpath appt coming up soon
Symptoms if they apply:
Testing:
Thoughts: Having a major "Is this job really what I want to do with my life?" week. I've been thinking about becoming a doula and then a midwife for sometime now, and last night after a meltdown, DH and I decided that its time for me to get serious about it! Hopefully starting Doula training on September 22nd!! I'm currently an Administrative Assistant at Microsoft and I hate it. I've always wanted to help people and ordering computers for whiney engineers wasn't what I had in mind. We will probably put TTC on tentative hold, although it'll probably be more TTW (trying to do whatever)...

You are a Microsoftie huh? My husband works on the Redmond campus. I hope he isn't one of the whiney engineers!

Good luck doula-ing! I know MS provides good (enough) money but doing what you love is what it's about!

Thanks!!!
What group does your husband work in? I'm in Zune and my husband works in Microsoft Games Studios and he's a whiney engineer! lol! Only kidding.. Its more the constant questions about why I haven't refilled the candy basket and what slushies we're having on Friday. (My group is really spoiled) My job is really slow right now and has been for a year, so feeling like I'm not contributing has really gotten to me, made me start asking the tough questions about my career. My husband has been saying I should go into midwifery for months! I'm so excited! Finally doing something that helps people and benefits my community!

I totally get this. My mother got pregnant four times within ten years while on birth control. Her sister, my aunt got pregnant with fraternal twins on birth control, and my cousin on that side as well got pregnant 3 months post c-section. And so I worry that if I don't get pregnant right away, then it means that something is wrong... because if everyone else in my family gets pregnant -so- easy... right?

I also get the whole 'good enough job' but not what I want to do with the rest of my life. I just got a new job, and I really like it. But it's a JOB, but what I want to do with the rest of my life. The plan as of now is to work at this job until I can collect mat leave (we get 50% of our wages for a full year here), and then once that wears out, I'll be a SAHM/ slowly going fulltime into my doulawork. I've attended a few births before I started full time work again, and it is the most thrilling thing I've ever done in my life.

Kaydove - DH works in Windows Phone. He's a Senior Software something something. He writes code basically. That's about all I can tell you because I don't really understand the rest What I love about being a MS wife is that it gave me the opportunity to really do what I want without having to worry too much about income. I do archival work at a local museum and love every minute of it. I would never have been able to do it without DHs passion for computers! If you do end up going the doula route we should keep in touch - I may need one soon! (Fingers crossed, right?)

Jeninejessica - Oh the Fertile Myrtle thing. There comes a lot of pressure with all that which really can't be conducive to getting pregnant. I hate that it makes us feel like something would be "wrong" if we didn't get pregnant easily. My SIL got pregnant the first time on 10-YEAR OLD SPERM her husband had frozen before having cancer treatments. Pressure is everywhere. I like coming to these boards because there is an utter lack of pressure here. As for job stuff I get what you mean. I work p/t doing what I love and it never feels like a JOB because I set my schedule and work off of grant money. I think if I did it full-time and had to be there 9-5 it wouldn't be as enjoyable. I think the key is being your own boss (as much as possible) and being in control. I hope it all goes as planned for you!

Question About my chart

Hi ladies, I had dotted cross hairs yesterday on cd 18, I thought it might have been right because of the thermal temps, but I did not feel like I had O'd yet. So yesterday I got two big chunks of EWCM just hanging out I didn't even have to look for them. It was the first time for EWCM this month so I figured hey I probably didn't O yet so we DTD. But I took my temp at 3 am instead of 5 am like normal. I went ahead and put my temp in(converted) and it kept the cross hairs. I know converty is not a good idea but I did it anyway. So I put in the original temp then put disturbance. I was just wondering if you thought I o'd yet or not.

Maybe you are ovulating today, and your temp will spike up tomorrow. As of your chart though, it does look to me like you haven't O'd yet (except maybe today?)

Sunday Check-In
Name: Nina
Date: 09/05/10
Where are you in your cycle: cd12 of 1st m/c cycle
Appointments: 09/09 2 week post m/c
Testing: I'll wait until at least the 22nd, which would be when AF would start in a normal cycle for me.
Thoughts: This is tough. Baby #4 was unexpected and not meant to be. I was 8 weeks when I m/c. We wanted to start TTC in January, hoping for a Fall baby. One for each season Now, we're just letting what happens happens. I'm not charting, but I am counting the days of my cycle, knowing that I have always conceived around cd14, though I've never had a m/c, so I really expect to have AF before I am really fertile again. I always had AF while nursing before I was able to get pg again.

looks like no o yet to me, but it loks like you may have yesterday (because of the dryup of CM) and the irregular temp today just didnt show the temp rise yet. might want to get one more BD in today in case today is o day.

so sorry for your loss.

you mentioned "I really expect to have AF before I am really fertile again" both of my children were conceive the first cycle after a m/c. your hormones are much higher and 'on alert' after a m/c good luck.

Sunday Check-In
Name: Sarah
Date: 9/5
Chart:not online
Where are you in your cycle:CD9 (first cycle post m/c)
Appointments: I have an appointment with my FertilityCare Practitioner Tuesday to go over my last 7 months of charts and discuss the m/c and possible testing that might need to be considered and then I have an appointment with my OB/GYN Wed for just a general health check and follow up post m/c. At the follow up appointment we will decide and order any tests we want to do, not sure if any will be necessary. I am considering getting my progesterone tested this cycle though. I am just shocked they are even offering to discuss testing since this is only my 2nd m/c and since I have had a healthy PG/baby since the last one.
Symptoms if they apply:
Testing:
Thoughts:Luckily if I do O this cycle it will not be until after my appointments this week. As of yet we are planning on trying this cycle unless my doc feels there are tests we need to have results form prior to us getting PG again.

Main Mama Doula - We have probably already talked about this on another thread, but after my 8 week loss I did not ovulate until after AF, but my cycle was not any longer than normal, which was nice. It still felt like we got to try pretty soon after the loss. I know tons of ladies who do O right away though and I completely agree with the PP that your body can often be 'primed' for PG after a miscarriage, if that makes sense. I have read a lot about it and from what I understand fertility can be heightened for several cycles post m/c. GL!! I hope you get a healthy sticky baby soon!

Sunday Check-In
Name: FairyMe
Date: Sept 5
Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/30c2d9
Where are you in your cycle: CD 1
Appointments: none
Symptoms if they apply: My back is killing me but that's the norm, along with the cramps and sore nips.
Testing: Had 1 FRER and even tho I knew this cycle was a bust I tested anyways on Monday and of course BFN.
Thoughts: This is my 1st cycle charting so I hope it sheds some light on the average length of my cycles and around when I do ovulate. I'm gonna be paying close attention to this cycle's chart and the next so I won't be disappointed if I don't get a BFP the next 2 cycles. I really wanna understand my cycles better so that I can time my "precious" BD well...lol.

I am currently at 8 DPO and I feel very very optimistic about my chances of being pregnant even though it is my first cycle trying!

Here is my chart

The symptoms I have so far..
- sore breasts since 1 DPO. Normally I only get sore breasts a few days before my period, so this is very unusual for me
- yesterday I started getting the feeling that my bra had become too small though it could have been wishful thinking! I have a very small cup size and usually my A-cup bras are a bit big on me, so that was an unusual feeling to have.
- spotting on 6 and 7 DPO. I never, ever, ever get spotting outside of my period. Could this be implantation bleeding? The spotting stopped on 7 DPO pm and it has not come back today
- pinching feeling in my uterus on and off for the past couple of days
- metallic taste in my mouth sometimes in the past few days
- the past 3 days I have had crazy high temps... almost off the top of the chart I keep by my bed! In the past I have occasionally had a temp that high but never a few days in a row!

Based on these things I am 90% sure this is it and trying to force myself to wait until 10 DPO to do a FRER!

My period normally starts at 9 DPO which would be tomorrow. Well actually I usually have 3-4 days of spotting starting at 9 DPO, then my period starts for real after that. So if my suspicions are correct I should not start spotting tomorrow, hopefully this comes true!

The one thing that worries me is my short luteal phase (usually 8 days long). When I start spotting from 9-12 DPO usually my temperatures remain fairly high but the fact that I am spotting probably indicates a lack of progesterone right? I am worried that if my progesterone starts dropping tomorrow it could prevent my baby from sticking in my uterus and I might lose it! Any suggestions?
