I'm just curious about this. I don't even remember the heartrates of my previous 3. I *think* ds was in the 140s, and the girls were both 150/160, but I'm not voting because I just don't know.

Anyway...please vote!

Eta: I've read all the stuff about how it's not really accurate...I was just curious what I would find through a sampling here.

Oh, and oops...I forgot to make this multiple choice! Can someone tell me how to change it? If not, just vote for one of your children, the oldest, if possible.

According to my doctor the only study that has proven that there might be a correlation shows the correlation happening during labor itself... at which point its really too close to the birth to matter all that much.

Maes heartbeat has been everywhere from 180 (at 9 weeks, on ultrasound) to 130... and both of my other two ranged between 120 and 160 at various parts of the pregnancy.

Yeah, they are supposed to start faster, and then slow down as pregnancy progresses. I have also read that the heart rate that "counts" is the one in labor. Conversely, I've read it is an early pg heart rate. .

We didn't find out the sex with either of our babies....

With DD, heartrate was about 130- towards the end the 120s.

With this baby (sex unknown), it's been in the 140s/150s consistently. So two very different heartrates! I can't wait to meet my new LO- then I'll have more info to contribute.

Mine was low all 3 times, I have 2 girls and a boy.

ETA: and I voted wrong. I meant to click under 140 and a girl but choose over and a girl instead. Sorry!

Both boys were over 150.

I have heard that out of all of the 'myths' that the heart rate one tends to be the most accurate. It's also supposed to be more accurate the farther along you are and MOST accurate during labor.

My m/w always says my currently cooking baby "sounds like a girl" aka has a high heart beat.

My ds was NEVER above 140 and this baby is always in the 160's.

My baby is a boy, and he has been in the 150s for months.

I don't recall with my other kids, but this one's hb is usually below 150 and he's a boy.

DS's h/b at the first u/s was 148.
DD's h/b at the first u/s was 173, I think.
This baby's was 158, but we don't know the sex yet!

I have 2 boys (with a 3rd coming in the next few weeks) and ALL thier heart rates have been below 140.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant with a girl.

At the initial ultrasound (9 weeks) her heartrate was 173.

Shes been in the 150's-160 since then.

So I guess it held true for us.

DS was in the high 140/low 150 range.

DD was in the 160s.

Both DDs were in the 150s at my 2nd and 3rd tri prenatal appointments.

DS has been in the 130s at all 2nd and 3rd tri prenatal appointments.
