Sore deltoid for over a week - am I doing push-ups wrong??

Argh. Well, I attempted a new way of doing push-ups w/ a balance ball over a week ago and the deltoid in my left arm is super sore. I can barely get dressed in the morning!
I was on top of the ball and rolled out till the ball was under my knees. Killer, but they felt good!

Last night, I tried doing them the old fashioned way and it felt fine during, but still sore today and not really any worse, just achey.

Should I lay off on any arm exercise for the time being? If so, for how long?

You could have strained it a little. I'd back off until there's no more pain.

Funny thing is, I find regular pushups harder than the ones you did. I think the ball makes it easier.

I think you're just sore from the ball. I've noticed when I haven't done kickboxing in awhile, my shoulders will ache horribly for the next 4 days. It goes away, though, you probably just used muscles you haven't used before being on the ball.
