Whats going on

I have an ear infection. I also have TMJ. I cannot shut my jaw all the way (has happen before with ear and sinus infection but not this bad - not painful). I do feel a little sinus stuffy on the side as the infected ear.

I am getting this pain on the top of my head. SHARP!

My ear is starting to feel better but the pain on the top of my head wax and wanes.

To best describe were it is go this link
http://www.face-and-emotion.com/data...my/cranium.jsp

The second picture. It is in the parietal bone behind the coronal suture closer. On the side that my ear infection is on. It does not go all the way back but in the area that is labeled superior temporal line.

When this hurts the work my eye aches.

I did discuss this with two different doctors but they were more worried about my ear.

Well, I know ear pain, sinus pain and TMJ pain (all of which I have dealt with) can produced referred pain. I have felt pain in weird places for sure. Perhaps this is rerrered pain??

Maybe you should talk to the dr again now that your ear infection is clearing up, he might want to check into it. Sometimes if an ear infection is very bad, it can cause an infection in the bone. I only heard of that happening in the mastoid bone, but maybe it could spread to a different area or like the pp said, be referred pain from any of the areas you are having trouble with right now, the TMJ, sinus or ear.
I hope you feel better soon.

I have TMJ, though it's under control now.

What helped me stay comfortable while I worked on causation was cranial sacral and acupuncture.

Issues in one spot of my body would cause discomfort is other areas that seemed completely unrelated. Cranial Sacral, especially, showed me just how connected the entire body is.

I agree that it could be referred pain.

It also sounds like a type of headache called "jabs and jolts" I've had that before and it was related to stress. It was just this sharp stabbing pain that would come and go. It was usually in the same side of my head. The doctor said it wasn't anything to worry about and eventually it just went away.
