In the sense that it causes curds to form in your stools, yes. In the sense that it actually removes "gallstones," no.

ditto on checking that it is gallstones. a dysfunctional sphincter in the bile duct can also cause pain.

my dh had tremendous success relieving his gallbladder issues (well, his sphincter issues) by (a) switching to a gluten-free diet (gluten disrupts cholecystokinase, one of the enzymes involved in the bile pathway and responsible for triggering the functioning of the sphincter) and (b) using lipase supplements (i think he used Enzymedica's LipoGold for about 1.5 yrs).

he now only needs the enzymes once in a while and no longer gets pain when he has a fatty meal without enzymes.
