Question about AG Bitty Baby doll clothes

Does anyone know what size t-shirt I would buy from a store that would fit a bitty baby doll? I was thinking that perhaps little 0-3mos or 3-6mos baby tees might fit or something like that? I was thinking of making matching t-shirts for a gift for my niece, but didn't really want to sew the doll t-shirt. I was just thinking of embellishing/applique/etc.

Anyone done this before? Think it's feasible? Or should I just scrap the idea? Since it's a gift and I have boys, I don't actually have a doll to test it on! Thanks for any help.

The premie size should fit. I have used the 0-3 Gerber lap tees on my 16" Waldorf jointed babies before. I did need to cut off a couple of inches on the tee shirt torso length, though.

We have premmie (up to 5lb I think) size for our 16" dolls, they fit quite well, though some have more nappy room than needed for a doll.

Newborn tends to be a bit big but DD doesn't mind as she finds them easier to get on and off.

Thank you! I'll try out the preemie size. I found a friend with a regular AG doll, and I know they are 18" and the bitty babies are 16", but at least I can test it out and eyeball it a little bit. Good idea about being a little bigger making it easier for the child.

Carter's Preemie fits best from what I've seen. I found some a while back at the thrift that were micropreemie that fit perfectly on DD's Bitty Baby.
