How are wool unders supposed to fit? - Page 2

Great thread!

I just wanted to chime in and say that we live in the South and DD has mostly silk/wool unders as it is more suitable for our climate (according to a long time Waldorf Mama I trust and purchased them through). Although DD does have one set of 100% unders for those few weeks where it is especially cold.

I live in silk unders in the winter, and am quite comfortable in them. I hope to get silk/wool ones eventually. However, I will say that the silk, even though they are quite thin, really help.

In this post I wrote about what we wear in the winter and why. There are two great links in the post...one is to Shelley (waldorfmama's) article last year about wool and the second is from an Anthroposophic physician. The article by the physician was the one that convinced DH that he needed unders too .

Here is a photo collage from the holidays that has many photos of DD in her 100% wool unders (they are red and white striped).

See, you guys get MUCH colder than we do. I think our normal "winter" time temps go down to about 70 for the most part with cold snaps in the 50's. Last year we had a very abnormal snap and it went into the 30's for the day (and all my bushes died, but my grapefruits were AMAZING).

I'm in Florida and I haven't really seen any blogs or anything with kids in such a warm environment with waldorf.

There used to be one called Childhood Magic & they live in Florida. She took it down, sadly. They spent a lot of time at the beach. The kids wore what you would expect: tank tops, shorts, swim suits.. The little boy almost never had a shirt on, lol. Since the goal is to keep the body warm & the body IS warm in a warm climate, I think all is good in the Florida heat!
