seeking input/experience!

Hello, I'm new to the TTC forum, and it's been a loooooong time since I posted on MDC at all, but the time has come for kiddo number 2! I'm also new to TTC in general, as ds was a happy surprise.

So anyway, I got my copper IUD removed on Friday Aug. 27, and I'm pretty sure I was ovulating either that day or the next day. Bleeding from the removal was pretty minimal and overall it was easy. So we dtd on Saturday afternoon. All that next week, I was feeling inexplicably tired and kinda bloated.. I know before implantation there aren't really supposed to be any symptoms, and it's possible that I was tired for some other reason, or my mind was just playing tricks on me b/c I want to get pg, looking for symptoms, etc. Finally around Thurs/fri I decided I had to just cool my jets because I'd go crazy waiting and imagining things were happening that maybe weren't. Fast forward to Sunday (last night) and I was laying on the couch web surfing and I felt this weird little pinch-pinch-twinge a couple times, maybe a couple inches below my belly button and just right of center. I might not even have noticed it had I not been so still. Anyway i was like wth was that?! And I counted, and it would put me at about 8 or 9 dpo if i o'd when I think I did, perfect timing for implantation. So i googled "pinch feeling implantation" and sure enough that's apparently something some women experience. I don't think it was psychosomatic because I'd heard of like implantation bleeding and cramps, but the pinch/twinge is something I didn't know about.

So I have a couple questions... My gyno said that since it wasn't the mirena and there were no hormones involved, I should theoretically be able to conceive immediately after it's removed. But the next day!? Anyone had that happen? Next, has anyone experienced the pinch/twinge feeling and then gotten a bfp soon after? And last, I obviously want to find out for sure ASAP, but I don't want to test too early and waste my $$ and/or be disappointed. How soon after implantation (assuming that's what I felt) am I likely to get a bfp? I can't really go by when i expect AF, because I have crazy irregular cycles. I know I could get a general idea by counting dpo, but I figure since that's accommodating a wide range of possible implantation dates, i might get a more specific idea counting days past (suspected) implantation.

Sorry this was so long, and I appreciate any experience you ladies have to offer!

I think 11 dpo is a good mark to start testing. I'm not 100% but it seems that's a good starting point and even if you get a negative, test again.

I would wait until 14 DPO at earliest. Otherwise you have a high chance of wasting a test. 16-18 DPO would tell you for sure. Do you chart? How do you know you ovulated?

I don't chart, but just based on timing (if it's just a slightly longer cycle than the norm), CM, and crazy libido (which is otherwise sadly barely there). Also, Friday morning before getting the IUD out I was feeling a bit crampy. I remember when I got pregnant with ds, I was thinking 'oh i must be about to start, we're ok to go unprotected this once' because I had barely started spotting and was a little crampy, and it had been about a month since my last af. Turns out I was just ovulating way late

i guess for now my plan is to wait until Friday, which would be (i think) about 14 dpo, but I might cave and get some dollar tree tests before that. Based on my ttc forum lurking, those seem to be pretty good, and the price is nice.

FF did study on over 93,000 charts on their site. Let me know if you can't get to the page and I will post the info.

Thanks for the link! That's really good in-depth info... Now if I can just make myself wait to take the darn test, i'll be in good shape. I did go ahead and buy just one dollar tree test, which, in all honestly, I'll probably take tomorrow morning. But at least I won't have wasted a ton of money, and I won't be crushed if its a bfn, because it's early enough that it could still be false if it's negative.
