My 4 yo DD has been using the potty for a while now, but lately will usually not go unless I physically carry her and put her on the potty. Most of the time, if I just tell her "It's time to go potty" she won't go. She'll go lie on the couch or her bed so that I have to pick her up and carry her. We've tried setting timers, using a sticker chart, etc. and haven't found anything that helps her stop what she's doing and go use the potty. Most of the time she just pees and/or poops in her underwear unless I physically put her on the potty. I am getting really frustrated with this and don't what/if there's anything I can do. When I try to back off and not remind her or get her to go, then she just pees and poops in her underwear all the time. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

4 is the age of irrational fears. so there might be a monster in the potty trying to pull dd away thru the potty. for others its a case of doing down the shower drain so wont take showers.
you gotta help them and work with them. does she have her own potty ring to go on the main potty? can you take her to the store to see what she might sit in. maybe a baby potty without the hole for the monster.
whatever it is - i wouldnt force her. but try different things. if nothing else give her a diaper to go in. its a phase she will grow out of.
my dd is 8. its only recently that she can bear the sound of hte toilet flushing. she cant stand the sound of public toilet flush. all this while she uses the toilet and then when she leaves the bathroom or goes near the door i hear "Flush now" and i flush.

No help, just in the same boat with my 3.5 year old. She knows how but doesn't want to. She'd rather just go in a pullup or diaper. She wanted me to take her pullup on & off for her. I told her no. She filled it to the point her pants were wet-UGHH! I'm fine with her staying in pullups and using the potty when she wants or changing her pullup when she's wet but I refuse to pull them up & down for her.
Hang in there!
