We have a stainless steel and bamboo bread box we keep bread in.
Extra bread is kept in the freezer or pantry.

DH and the kids like sliced bread, so we keep loaves of it in the pantry, with extra loaves in the freezer. We used to keep it in the fridge but it seemed like it dried it out, and we realized that we use it quickly enough (a loaf every 3-4 days) not to worry about mold.

I like sourdough baguettes, so I slice them into 6-inch sections and then halve those lengthwise and store them in the freezer, so when I need one I just toast it or let it thaw on the counter. (That's the same thing I do with bagels -- slice and freeze them the day I buy them. They can go in the toaster frozen and come out just like they do when you toast them up fresh. And you're not having to try to saw through frozen bread. )
