Okay...now I've got myself totally worried, one of those side effects of too much time on the internet
. From before conception until 5 weeks of pregnancy, I was taking a regular multi-vitamin as well as a B complex and Vit. C (B vitamins for help with depression). Pregnancy this time was a surprise and so I didn't start taking a prenatal until 5 weeks. Well I started to worry about those b vitamins I was taking today and decided to look them up online(probably a bad idea) and found out that Niacin (b3) and B12 are not recommended in high doses during pregnancy. I found that niacin can be linked to birth defects. Between the two vitamins, I was taking 35 mg of niacin a day, which is the max. adult dose. I'm now 12 weeks and we heard the baby's heartbeat this last week. DH tells me not to worry but I do...Do you think I should be worried?
Thanks for your help and advice!
