AF and supply - panicking!

Ok, so, i was a low supply mama last time due to thyroid issues/stress/BCP/her being overnight with her dad combo. I think i have addressed everything that had an effect last time....but...

My period came back. My supply had been low Thursday/Friday/Saturday - i couldn't feel let-down at all, i am eating mothers milk cookies, feeding her as much as i can and taking fenugreek. I also pumped after feeds yesterday, but honestly, if she's happy to suck i'd rather BF since i don't give her bottles/paci/anything to suck but me so anything i get with the pump goes into the freezer not the baby. Despite the no-letdown her nappies and demeanour have been normal, and she's not really fed more often, but she normally feeds every hour or two anyway, so more often would be constantly.

Should i be worried? I can feel let-down and was leaking again today, but she has gone back to waking to eat at 5.30am (which i don't mind - it's just she's been sleeping 5-8.5 hours overnight since birth, so i'm just concerned it means she's hungry). Is this probably just normal supply-drop-due-to-period, or could this be something more sinister?

I will do anything to keep my supply.

How close are you to AF coming?

I got AF 6 weeks PP with all three kids even with co-sleeping. My supply would drop 2-3 days prior to AF, then pick up the next day after AF started.

Sorry, AF came Sunday (but it's super-light, i can tell more from my mood/skin than the little bit of bleeding) and my supply has been picking up all day.

I had a one day AF this week, it seems to have gone away. I didn't know this was possible. Didn't notice any changes in supply though.

With DD1 (now 8) whenever AF was on the way my supply tanked for a couple of days (and my nipples hurt like heck!). It always came back up on it's own the day AF arrived. And DD didn't seem any worse for the wear.

Well i'm bursting with milk today (even now, it's usually a little low in the evening and still there's a lot of swallowing going on during the cluster feeding) so i guess i was having a panic over nothing! Hopefully next month i can remember what it was!

Some people have good results supplementing either mag alone, or cal + mag to help with supply at AF. You could add that in (or increase the amount if you're already taking something) and see if you can avoid it next month--though even without doing anything, my reduction in supply decreased over a period of 2-3 months, not sure if that's normal or not.

That is great news!
