I have mentioned it here before, but it bears repeating.
Chris Erskine, columnist for the Los Angeles Times (www.latimes.com) frequently mentions his 1+yo nursing. In fact, now that I'm paying attention, I have noticed that he mentions it on a weekly basis.

His column is called "The Guy Chronicles" and it's about him and his wife and their 4 kids (ranging from college aged to the aforementioned 1 year old). Funny, anecdotal.
I don't know if he realizes that many American babies don't nurse beyone 6 months of age! I don't know if he realizes what an ADVOCATE he is! I really need to send him an email.
