Gifts for midwife?

I had an absolutely fantastic homebirth 10 days ago. I had an awesome midwife, who, although she didn't make it to the birth, was a wonderful care provider. She was awesome and I'd like to get her a little something to show my gratitude for caring for me and taking me as a client. Any suggestions?

Maybe a book for her lending library? This time around I'm giving my mw the new edition of The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. Last birth, I gave my midwife the book Angel in the Waters. It's a book for children.

I prefer practical gifts myself--gift cards for gas or food, for instance! Or a book for my library as the pp suggested...When accompanied by a heartfelt note, it can mean the world to me. Sometimes people gift me with other things, and I always appreciated gifts so much. Anything at all is wonderful, but of course over the years a person might end up collecting tons of pretties--these are harder to keep or even store as memorabilia, as they accumulate. But it's so easy to store cards and letters--and then, I can reread them whenever I need reminded of positive things and the good work I do.
