vaccinations are not manditory in canada

no, they can't. in canada, it's our constitutional right to choose whether we vaccinate or not. no one can force you either way - including the school system.

If your in Canada, then if they accept any government money they cannot deny a child based on vaccine status. Which province are you in? Maybe this link will help.

I dont think you even have to fill out a vaccine refusal affidavit? Do you? I never have.....I'm in MB. Maybe it's different for other provinces?

I am in Ontario.

When DD was in preschool they asked that I go down to the township with a form (provided by the eastern Ontario Health Unit - exemption to vaxing due to sincerely held beliefs). I had them put their clerk stamp on it (10$) and sent it to the health board (who lost it - but that is another story) That was all. I do not know if I had to do it - but I did choose to comply.

public, no they can't.

There are only 3 provinces which you'd need to file an exemption. The rest wouldn't even ask for vaccine info.

In Ontario you only need to file the Immunization excempt form (Form 2) once a child is over 4 and they are in school. Preschools fall under the Day Nurseries Act and all they require is the parent write a letter stating that for religious or Conciousness beliefs you do not Immunize and that you understand if there is an outbreak or the serious potential of an outbreak your child may be excluded from the program during that time. This letter soes not need to be notorized.

My DH called the Vaccination Information Hotline and they told him that you can send in the notorized form but that they will not file it until the child is over 4 but they will hang onto the form, and that they do a pretty good job of not losing things
