Is it possible to have lipase be a problem just *sometimes*?
On Fridays I freeze that week's leftover milk, and pull out frozen milk on Mondays. This way I'm using the oldest stuff in the freezer instead of letting it get too old.
Last night I noticed that one of the bags seemed to have a tiny hole in the ziplock part, so I smelled it. It smelled a bit funny to me. I set it aside and opened another bag, and it smelled a bit funny to me, too. So I tasted it, and it tasted weird (not quite the soapy taste I've heard of, but I suppose I could see how someone might call it that). The rest of the bags tasted like that, too.
All of those bags were from the same few days.
Is it possible to have lipase be a problem that comes and goes?
I've tasted the frozen milk once before and it was okay. And I've never noticed it smelling weird before.
The only other thing I can think of is that maybe I had eaten something really strong that day.
Any thoughts?
