House Guests

What is the largest number of house guests you've had a one time?

Our old record was five when we were a family of four... so we had nine people in a two bedroom house with a loft. Our house is larger now, nearly 2000 square feet, but we had eight people spend the night on Friday. We're a family of six now, so that was 14 warm bodies.

Overnight? I think...10 or 11. Plus the 3 of us. I had to bring in an extra table to the kitchen for breakfast.

Normally we'll have 4-6 extras which is no biggie. This coming weekend our count is 4 so far but I expect it to be 6-8 by the time everyone responds.

We had 5 overnight guests this past Saturday, but I think our max so far in this house (just moved Feb 2010), was 6 overnight, but ironically we have room for a lot more once you add the 2 airmattress and the couch that thus far have not been pressed into use.

14 plus our family of 3. A few weeks after we moved in we had a housewarming/painting party and a lot of DH's friends BYOB'd.
We have a VERY strict drinking and driving policy at our house, so anyone whose sobriety was questionable had to camp out.
It was only about 10 hours so my only complaint was that there was always someone in the bathroom.

13-- not friends, inlaws. it was terrible. the first guests came in on a wenesday, and the last ones didn't leave until a week later.

6 that stayed for 3 days is the max we have had (plus us and we are a family of three) so that would have been a total of 9 in the house. We have a fairly good sized house though (3200 sq ft and 3.5 baths) so it didn't feel too crazy.

Well I've only had four, but as my house is about 850sq feet it was a challenge (and it was for a week). It made it easier to find sleeping places for two of them because they were kids. The down side was finding places to play for three kids in our tiny living room.

ETA: But I would do it again in a heartbeat!

We had my parents, siblings and their partners and kids for new year last year. I think the most we had in the house at any time was 14 of us on new years day. It was chaos but in a fun way most of the time.

The things I found hardest was that it was hard pinning down people as to when they were arriving and leaving. I wanted to be flexible but it would have helped to know what meals people were here for, especially the vegetarians amongst them.

Also next time I will make it more clear that I do not have that many towels
