Infant education fun - wall ideas?

We have a large den area that we keep clear and safe for my babes. They learn so much every day! I'd like to put some fun, maybe tactile or sensory things on the wall, on their level. Visual stimulation, too!

What do you think you'd do, and how would you mount it? I was thinking of screwing small frames to the wall, so that I could then slide in stuff like a piece of fuzzy fabric, or sand paper. Maybe higher up I'd put some nice art for looking at.

Anyone have something like this in their homes, or have seen it in classes?

Infant Montessori uses low, safe mirrors. My little guy loves it!

I saw on a blog once where she made all sorts of tactile pieces, framed them (no glass of course) and hung them where the kids could touch them. She had things like minky fabric (for soft), sandpaper (for rough), satin (silky) etc. It was pretty neat, Id probably do something like that if I had the space.
