Anyone else have an easy time with #1 and difficulty TTC #2 or more?

ARGH!!

My DD was conceived the very first time in my entire life I had unprotected sex. The very first time. Ever. It was also my first cycle off of BCPs.

It has been 26 months since she was born. We haven't used any birth control. I am not nursing.

For a while we just didn't DTD very often. I was way too tired, and my sex drive was in the toilet.

Then we "whatevered" for a while.

Six months ago we started to 'officially' TTC. The last two cycles I have been charting.

And today is CD1.

We had such an easy time getting preggo with DD, I never thought I would have to struggle. I know that very few people actually expect to struggle TTC, but doing so after DD is just really shocking to me. I haven't quite come to terms with it yet.

Is anyone else in the same boat?

DD1: 4th time was the charm, and one of those cycles was badly timed, so it might have even been earlier if we had better timing.

DD2: one solid year, 11 cycles of perfect timing, solid EWCM, gorgeous temp shifts, the whole nine. No fertility problems, just some lousy luck I guess.

So yeah, sometimes it just takes a while. But DD is here now and was soooo worth the wait!!

Yea, a lot of people are in the same boat. DS was an accident - the first time we had sex all year. We are now approaching our second year of TTC, and I am having a miscarriage.

Six months is not really that long... how old are you? I think that if you are over 35, they suggest a visit to an RE after 6 months.

I was in the same boat with #2.

DH & I conceived DS after one month of unprotected sex. DD, however, took about 10 months of hardcore TTC- herbs, progesterone cream, Pre-Seed, vitamins, charting, etc.

We are TTC #3 and I wonder how long that will take.

I am sorry about your miscarriage.

We have been trying for six months, but not avoiding for two years now. I'm 30. I am giving myself one last cycle, and am then going to make a doctor's appointment.

Yep... my son was conceived our first cycle of TTC. I thought for sure I was one of those lucky people who got pregnant easily, but now I have been proven wrong. We're on our 9th cycle of TTC #2.

Oh My...

DD was conceived the month BEFORE we started trying!

I just started my 14th cycle trying for #2...

DS was 15 months of "whatever"... 12 or so of which was probably me coming off of Depo so 3 months maybe of actual healthy/drug free trying?

DD was 6 months of not using anything, then exactly 24 months of HARD trying (charting, OPKs, Fertility aids, etc) ... We had an appointment with a Fertility Dr exactly 2 weeks after I got my BFP. Cancelling that appointment was the happiest day of my life.

Here we are again on month one of TTC #3 for me (#5 for DH)... after almost 4 years of not preventing. I'm really hoping it will be easier this time around but I don't really expect it either.... but maybe all that I learned in those 2+ years with DD will help me to get it much quicker this time around. I'm hoping so. Hope this will be your last month trying!

DD took 6 months, with a chemical at 3 months of TTC.

I have been TTC since October of last year and I have had 2 chemical pregnancies. One the very first month we tried and one back in June. I am not that concerned yet because I did have a severe crohn's flare which I am sure has not helped TTC. I have been in remission since March so thats more what I am going by in terms of how long I have been TTC.

I was in remission for a couple years when I got pregnant with DD.

I am due for a physical so I will bring it up there incase she wants to do some blood work.

same boat-#1 conceived first time trying at age 29. I am now 35 and today is also CD 1 for me after having been trying since last fall and a previous year of whatever/not avoiding. I am so frustrated and worried my first born will never have a sibling. I have a follow up appt with an Naturopathic Dr this week and am hoping for some answers-the ob/gyn told me to just keep trying for another few months.....I'm also getting anxious about what, if anything comes next. I'm not one for drugs or interventions so I am praying this just happens SOON on its own!

We have four kids, all 2 years apart - I got pregnant each subsequent time a few months after my fertility returned. Now, we have been TTC #5 actively for 24 months. Before that, we weren't avoiding - so, since our youngest is 3.5 years old, it seems like such a long time to have not gotten pregnant.

ETA: I am 31, so I'm not convinced age is the main reason I can't get knocked up.

DD was conceived on our third try. We've been trying for #2 for 9 cycles this year, plus two cycles last summer, so overall getting close to a year. It's frustrating, especially since DD is already 5 and really wants to have a sibling, and also because it took so long for DH and I to get on the same page about starting trying for a second child, that it almost seems like it has been longer for me! (I would have wanted to start trying earlier). I'm 34 so not super worried about my age but certainly not getting any younger, so I really really really would like for it to happen soon!

Ds was a happy accident. he was conceived on my 35th birthday.

Im 38 now and have been TTC for about 6 cycles.

I had a honeymoon baby who is now 27 months old and we have been trying for about 8 months and.... nothing. I am so disheartened... I have no idea what is going on, trying not to stress about it and not to get too depressed about it either.

with ds1 i was pregnant the first cycle (stopped taking my BC and BAM!)
with ds2 it took about 4 cycles.
let's see what happens with #3. i'm not in a hurry but will be disappointed if it takes quite long time.

ttc#1 - first month
ttc#2 - 21 months, was not even trying at that point just not preventing, gave up hope and tried to be in peace with having 1 child only, but it was very hard, really surprised now

TTC#1--DH and literally looked at eachother one day and said,"Let's start our family". At that point, I wasn't charting, I was actually pretty ignorant to anything fertility/pregnancy related, we hust had sex whenever. I got pregnant in the first month of "not preventing but not obsessively TTC".

TTC#2--I was charting. I knew exactly when I ovulated, and I was very in-tune with my body... it took us exactly one full year to concieve. It was a huge shock. In fact, we were just about to go to an RE. Thankfully, we didn't have to.

I don't know if the 1st time was just a fluke and we got lucky, or what. We do plan to TTC #3 next year, and I am HOPING it will not take a year again... not to mention I am getting older.

I understand your frustration. Believe me!

#1 was conceived first try, just by talking about starting a family.
Then #2...well you can see by my signature how THAT'S going!

First baby (my loss) - pull and pray baby
DS - Condom baby
DD1 - Birth Control Pill baby

all used as correctly as you can use those methods.

DD2 - 7 cycles out of 2 years actively charting and trying before she decided to grace us with her presence. Funny enough, she also decided to stick it out in my womb until the day before 42 weeks. She just did NOT want to be here yet, I guess.
