New Rules of Lifting for Women

Thread Starter
I just bought the book and I'm reading it now. Looking forward to starting it soon (once I'm done with the Chalean Extreme program sometimes in October). Anybody already doing it? What is your experience? How do you like it?

LoL . . . I feel so silly these days doing tricep kickbacks (as part of the Chalean Extreme program). So much of what Schuler says makes good sense!

If you're doing it, are you supplementing the protein? What powders are you using, vegans especially? I started drinking a cup of soy milk after my lifting sessions but I'm thinking of maybe starting in with a good whey powder shake or something. I'm wary of powders though. So I don't know. Any ideas?

Anyway, it seems like lots of folks are getting hip to this book. Let's support each other!

subbing in...

I am working through it for the second time and starting stage 6 tomorrow.

I really want to say more, but am out of time right now. Hopefully somebody else will post and I'll get a nice little reminder about this thread.

I just got it from the library and I thought it seemed very similar to Rachel Cosgrove's book (which my sneaky SIL bought me off my Amazon wishlist for Christmas!) and then I noticed that her husband is an editor. I will be starting something soon. I don't like working out, I prefer WORK, as a former landscaper, but living in MN and being a SAHM, I am very limited in what i am able to do. I am all about strength, so I think I will be happy if I can get in a groove. i am so out of shape from not having worked doing landscaping for almost 5 years now.

Protein will be a big challenge for me - I am gluten, dairy, soy, and egg free. I seem to tolerate dairy much better now so I may try some whey powder if I can find some raw that won't break the bank.
