2.5 hours for appointment?!

We have been referred to allergy/immunology for DS 1 who seems to be sensitive to everything under the sun. Since there isn't a local provider, we have an appointment several hours away next Monday and have been advised that it will be at least 2.5 hours.

This seems like a REALLY long appointment- is that normal?

That's how long the last appointment DS and I both had with an allergist. They came in and we talked about what we needed to be tested for, then a nurse came back and did the tests, then we had to wait around a while to give us time to react to the scratch tests, then the nurse came back and read them, and then the doctor came back and talked to us again. So yeah... 2.5 hours is about right.

Yikes- that sounds terribly intimidating. :/

Trying to have DS seen by any medical provider is heck to begin with- and is an endless stream of crying/screaming/ panic on his part.
