No Tomatillo?

We have a big, beautiful bush, tons of flowers, but no tomatillo fruit. Does tomatillo need 2 plants to cross pollinate?

I have 4 tomatillo plants and they are loaded with fruit. I don't think they need to cross pollinate... they're in the same family as tomatoes. It could be that they just need more time. It seemed like there were only blossoms for the longest time but at some point it switched over to being mostly fruit without me noticing. I tend to stay away from that section of the garden because of the bees. They LOVE tomatillo blossoms!

Do you have any bees? Mine always have bees on them and have lots of fruit, especially now with the cooler weather. I scattered seeds in the garden in April (having heard they grow like weeds) and got like 8 tall plants. Also, I read on the variety description that many other tomatillos can't tolerate the weather and soil in the Midwest where I am, but this kind was developed in (I think) Virginia so it thrives.

Ok, so next year we'll need at least 2 plants. We did get plenty of bees for the other plants in our garden
