Italian prune plums (or italian plums or whatever you want to call them), are super easy, heavy producers, and don't need to be sprayed. Apricots are great too.

What do you eat?

If you hate plums or can't stand apples, well, that would be useless.

Apples and pears have nice and hardy varieties that do well in chilly zone 5 here.

Sometimes peaches and cherries, but those can be iffier depending on the year's weather. There's also plums and apricots and such around as well. You do need to make sure you plant them in pairs so they pollenize each other well, or make sure you've got enough other assorted fruit trees in the neighborhood to do that for ya.
