preschool poll if you have a 3yr old - Page 3

Ds is going to montessori preschool 3 half days a week. If I could afford it I would send him 5 half days, but we really can't afford even this, so it's the best I can do right now. the school was not my frist choice originally (my first choice was a spanish-immersion montessori school), but after spending a lot of time talking with the director (she is working with us on the finances to make it possible for us to send ds) i really like the warmth and caring attitudes of the teachers, and their patience with him.

So far he has gone three times. He does cry at drop off, but he adjusts quickly and is always happy when I pick him up. I can't get anything out of him about what he does, though, other than "I play firetrucks" which baffles me because I have never seen any toys there when I've been in the classroom.

No preschool for us here. His older siblings are all homeschooled and we decided not to send him as well.

DS is 3 and we're not doing preschool. So, he won't go next year either and will start kindy at age 5. My DD's went to preschool. DD1 didn't need to go and looking back I wish I had hadn't sent her. DD2 has ASD and preschool did a WORLD of good for her, so it was a good decision to send her. But, DS is my last child and I am enjoying having him home and "homeschooling" his preschool lessons.

My DD turned 3 in June and goes to preschool 3 days a week 9:30-2:15. She loves it and I love it. She was in a "preschool" room at the same facility last year (2 days a week) because she was potty-trained. She hangs out with her friends, plays outside (they have a large teaching garden) and does a lot of imaginative play inside. The teachers there are all very caring and wonderful.
We can only afford it this year because some of our family is helping us out. I'm pregnant and I need the alone time (pregnant or not, I enjoy being alone sometimes).
No regrets at all. It's a wonderful situation for us, and I'm very grateful for it!

My three year old is at home and has never been in any sort of daycare or school. We homeschool and plan to continue for the foreseeable future.

I started both of my older children in our Head Start pre-K program this year. DS turned 3 in August and DD1 is 4 (May). DD1 is soaring in her class as I expected and DS had some learning concerns. They want CDS to evaluate. I expected that. DS had trouble with gross motor skills and although 6 months behind at 2 1/2, they discontinued his services because it was the only area he lacked in.

They go Mon-Thu 8:30-12:15. So far, so good.

Dd1 is in preschool here. Just the regular French public preschool. She actually starts last January and did half the year. She was ready and we felt it would give her a leg up on the language. SHe loved it. She couldn't wait to go back all summer. THis year she is in a class that has both 3 yo and 4 yo so its nice. She has a blast. We like the school and the teachers. As for teh French school system we haven't made up our minds but we have time and don't even know if we are staying here, so we will see.
