Facebook? Do you? When/how?

What do you think? What do you/have you done when it comes to the technology world and spreading the word? I'm at 14 weeks and I'm not a really active facebooker, but it seems like an easy way to tell people far and wide... And I feel like I should tell on there before someone else does for me!

I'm going to, around 13 or 14 weeks, with a status update. I plan to word it carefully, as I know some of my FB friends won't care and some will be thrilled.

I don't do facebook. Never have never will. If I want someone to know my nitty gritty they will hear it from my mouth. lol

I did the day I found out. I figured if there was a loss, these are the people who'd be my support and sympathizers.

I told on facebook at 12 weeks, after we had an ultrasound showing everything was all good. But first I told my parents, my grandma, and my best friends, same with dh. We didn't want anyone really important to us to find out that way, but it's great for more casual friends and acquaintances. My grandma took care of telling my extended family, haha, she loves to spread news, and was really excited.

I posted a pic from the ultrasound and said "B and I are expecting a baby on March 8th!"

We got tons of comments, but I was surprised how many people missed it. When I've made subsequent posts mentioning being pregnant I always get a few more "wow" comments.

I'm waiting a few more days and then I will also announce it on fb. I told everyone that were important to us before saying it on fb.

I plan to post some sort of status update in the next week or two... I have first told all close friends and I think I have told all family - or other family has spread the word...

I figure that now that so many people know someone will make a FB comment soon anyway so I better just make it official.

I just put it on FB tonight- I'll be 12w on Friday.

I gave my mom the go ahead to tell people and I didn't realize HOW MANY people she would start emailing. I wanted the news to get to them from me first /at the same time so my DH and I each put out a post tonight.

I'm a pretty private person so embracing FB has been a challenge but all the sweet comments tonight are making me glad I did!

We told our families first, then posted it on FB. "We are happy to announce the anticipated release date of (Our last name) Version 5.0 is March 18, 2011."

We got lots of positive comments, and one smart-alec "You know what causes that, right?" one. (When you have more than a couple kids, you kinda learn to roll with that.)

I keep my facebook super small (only very close friends & a few cousins) so when I posted a couple of weeks ago, most of them already knew. I guess it depends on whether you have 20 or 2000 friends on your FB!

I posted an ultrasound from our NT scan. I didn't do a big announcement, but I got tons of comments just from adding the pic.

My husband sort of bullied me into announcing on FB.

He can't keep a secret TO SAVE HIS LIFE and one night he said "Okay, I don't care what you do, but I NEED to post it on Facebook!" Obviously, we have a lot of mutual friends, so I figured I'd get busted eventually. My announcement was pretty vague and obviously not everybody got it. (I referenced the Michelle Shocked song 'When I Grow Up' and wrote "we're gonna have 120 babies....or maybe just 3". My close friend that know how much I LOOOOOOOVE Michelle Shocked totally got it. On the other hand, 3 weeks later I'm still coming across people who completely missed it. Admittedly, I have a really large friends list with a lot of work associates, who also have very large friends lists.

I DID make sure to tell all of my close friends a family before I posted it.

I posted a FB announcment last weekish. It just seemed like an easy way to tell the friends that we hadn't already from our mouths.

I just posted a few days ago and I'm almost 13 weeks. I googled a "bun in the oven" image and just posted the picture. It was cute and I got lots of responses, but some people still didn't get it.

I had a friend who posted last year a picture of "preggo" spaghetti sauce....another funny idea~
