DD2 is almost 13 months old. Poor thing is currently getting 5 teeth at once - her 4 molars, and her 8th front tooth.
All she wants to do (and I mean ALL, every minute she is awake) is sit on my lap and nurse. At night she is waking every hour to nurse, and last night had a 2 hour awake period in there too.
I can distract her with play, then a few minutes later she's back at the couch, patting the cushion, saying "ma mas" (our word for nursing). She has a complete meltdown if anyone else sits in our nursing spot.
She is normally a very inquisitive, adventurous kid, only taking a few minutes to nurse here and there, so it is clear she is struggling.
If I take her out somewhere, she still asks to nurse constantly, but then won't actually nurse (being out is FAR too interesting LOL).
I can ride it out; I'm handling the demands ok. But is it the right thing to do? I think so, DH thinks so, but I don't even tell most people IRL about it b/c I know what their response would be...
I think the only alternative would be really medicating her (just advil, or tylenol, or orajel doesn't seem to help much - I think it would need to be a combo, which I'm not thrilled about).
