Twin birth question/observation...

So, one of the risks with vaginal birth of twins is that one will be breech right?

And one of the risks of breech is that the baby will get stuck because the body didn't "make enough room" for the head, right?

But isn't the first twin usually head-down? So, wouldn't that negate the "space" fear with breech?

Yes. My MW said she doesn't deliver breech babies at home, but will deliver twins at home as long as the first is head-down. Presumably Baby B can get out OK if Baby A opens the way.

ETA: that's not to say there aren't other concerns about twin births, though. Like, cord prolapse for Baby B is more likely while Baby A is being born. So the breech issue is only one risk, and a minor one, I think.

Most birth professionals... OB's and midwives will not deliver twins unless baby A is head down. Most midwives do not care about the position of baby B. You'll find mixed results on what OB's prefer. I personally found a very small position that were comfortable with baby B being breech. Also I have personally found many OB's will only deliver twins vaginally if babies are quite close in size, or baby B is the smaller twin.

And yes for twins... breech is only one of the many concerns. Generally most concerns involve baby B, and usually not until Baby A has been born. There is some added risks to mom for PPH. (which makes sense, bigger stretched out uterus having a harder time clamping down, as well as two placentas or one larger one creating a larger wound on the uterus... so a larger spot to bleed.)
