Pacifier?? - Page 2

we really like gumdrops. Well, we did before she stopped taking them, and hopefully she will again. One of the things I like most, that probably doesn't apply to you, is that, unlike the Soothies, there is a cutout area for the nose, and we can replace her ng tube while she sucks on it! But the best part is that they're WAY lighter than Soothies, so they don't fall out of n00bs' mouths the moment they lessen the suction just a tad.

I've tried and DD won't take a paci- screams bloody murder. Also what she does when we try to give her breastilk from a bottle. I'm hoping that changes as she gets a little older...we tried the thinkbaby bottle last night and there's a glimmer of hope.

Edie's on a pacifier strike. I had to nurse her 4 times last night (1, 2, 4, and 6). I think she's teething too. My poor nipples are dying! Any ideas for what to try other than the Soothies (which she used to take but won't today/yesterday)? I am not willing to expose her to latex/rubber so it has to be silicone.

I just wanted to update here being the op.

I was using my finger for dd and that was working but very hard to do for long periods, especially since I had to have my finger upside down in her mouth..not comfortable!

Anyway, I did something desperate! We were going through so many crying evenings and I could tell she just wanted to suck, but wasn't happy if she got milk, etc. So I put a tiny bit of sugar in some warm water and dipped the pacifier (soothie) in it. She took it and then it seemed to click that this thing actually makes her feel happier and life has been better since! She prefers the ugly soothie, but will take others too, so I am happy, and she seems so much happier!

She basically gets in the wrap, takes the paci and falls asleep for hours. Still can't get her to sleep for long in a bed/swing etc, but I can still do my homework this way!
