Can I just brag for a minute?

..... About all the delicious food we will be eating in the near future?

We have been becoming more and more conscious of the healthiness (or lack thereof) of our food. We already ate mostly whole foods, but we have taken another step!

We just joined a local organic CSA! So now we are going to get weekly baskets of fresh, local, organic produce! So far we have had potatoes, corn, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, garlic, spinach, lettuces, tomatoes, herbs and lots I am sure I am forgetting. It runs all winter, when we will get vegetables from their cold cellar and also from their greenhouses.

Plus, they also raise organic, pastured chickens and cows, so we are getting a side of organic grass fed beef! We won't have it till the middle of October but we were able to buy some beef they sell by the piece to try and it was delicious! We also got fresh eggs and a chicken, also all very tasty.

We had the roast chicken one day, then chicken salad sandwiches for lunch and my DH made the most delicious bone broth, and we had soup! (he asked me to please come on here and brag about his stock making abilities. He is quite proud of himself)

We are so excited about our new food! I just had to come and share!

Good for you! We belong to a CSA, too, and just love it. I've even learned to like a few new veggies -- radishes and kohlrabi. You're lucky your CSA goes all winter!

I know! I was very excited when I contacted them and they mentioned they had a winter CSA too! Then when we got to the farm and learned they had greenhouses and we could expect lettuces and other greens most of the winter we were thrilled! Plus we got to jump right in for the last month of the summer CSA so I feel extra fortunate to reap the bulk of the harvest!

Off to make a salad with some fancy new greens!
