Name Poll!

Help!! We've narrowed it down to three names:

Lila Brooke
Hayley Brianna
Abigail Hope

Lila - my favorite girl's name forever. Brooke would be after DH's grandmother. I love the meaning (Lila: Dark-haired beauty).

Abigail - DH's favorite girl's name forever. Hope would be after my grandmother. LOVE the meanings of both names (Abigail: A father's joy).

Hayley Brianna - after both DH's and my grandmothers. I think it's pretty. Definitely the second place name on both our lists, but it would be ideal to name after both grandmas. (ie: Far less drama from the relatives if we don't choose sides!)

If you were to pick one, which would you choose and why?!?

Abigail Hope stands out to me. I have always liked the name Abigail. It doesn't fit with the rest of our kids' names but I had a doll named Abigail when I was little. It sounds cute on a little person and sophisticated on a big person!

i like lila brooke the best...cause i love the name lila. not fond of the name brooke, but i like the namesake for your family. if i could combine them, i'd choose lila abigail

Abigail is on our short list because I love the meaning!

Totally off-the-wall suggestion...what about combing Abigail and Lila into
Alila? Then the meaning could be Father's joyful dark-haired beauty?

Anyway, I like Hope as a middle name...

So, I'd vote:

1) Alila Hope
2) Lila Hope
3) Abigail Hope

Lila Brooke does it for me.

I run into tons of Hopes and Graces. Abby rhymes with things I don't like crabby, scabby, flabby... you get the idea?

Lila is absolutely beautiful. It sounds like a flower & is musical & conjures the image of a lovely girl. She would love her name.

I love the richness of the meanings in these names. Well done!

Lila and Abigail are both equally lovely, and both stand out. You could do a combination (Lila Abigail or Abigail Lila), but you could also save the name for another child. I don't like the melding of the two names idea (Alila, etc.). You have some beautiful, classic names here, and I'd choose from that.

Hayley Brianna, while after relatives, sounds really trendy to me...like a Disney show name or something. It doesn't come close to the beauty of your other two names.

Sorry I can't pick one...but Lila Brooke and Abigail Hope are just so equally pretty! Good luck, mama!

Hayley does feel kind of trendy to me too, but H names are hard to find! I generally prefer classic names to cree8tive spellings and made-up names.

Forgot to add that Brianna means "strength." Brianna Hope was on our short list for awhile, but DH just vetoed it.

I don't think we'd go with a Lila/Abigail combo; we want to name DD after at least one of our grandmothers. We conceived within a day of my grandma's birthday, and are due on DH's, after six months of trying. I feel like our grandmothers gave us this gift, and we should return the favor. But if we only name after one of them, the next child will be named after the other grandma. Since I'm doing all the hard work, I'd argue that we should name for my grandmother first... but I love love love Lila and DH would never agree to Lila Hope.

Yikes. Why is this so hard?

I love Abigail Hope. It's a classic. I tend to prefer classic-sounding names too.

I know a lot of little Lilas and Leilas so I would steer away from that on those grounds.

I just don't like Hayley because it sounds made up to me.

I vote for Lila Brooke.

Abigail Hope. Beautiful name.

I love the name Lila!! (unfortunately for me, my dh doesn't).

I would go with Lila this time, and Abigail if you have another DD.
