HELP diapers desinigrating!!

Help please... I use a small local diaper service and we have recently had a problem with diapers coming out of the wash with holes in them. It's all different types of CDs. 1 HH hemp pocket, 2 wahms and several prefolds. The owner & I are trying to figure out what's going on!!! Idont use any creams. Try to use flushable liners when I can. She picks up and washes 1x a week. She uses crunchy clean detergent and some sort of oxygen booster. It's happened slowly over the past few weeks. We are perplexed to say the least. She is not having this prob. With any other clients. Please help us figure this out.

That seems quite weird. The only thing I can think of is bleach causing holes in polyester and loose screws etc. in the washing machine/drier causing holes. But then it would not just be you.
Do the others have different type of diapers?

We have now narrowed the problem down to the Bummis organic prefolds. It is starting to happen with another customer too. Same bummis org. Prefolds. This is just so strange... Like the fabric is just breaking down.

Could it be the oxygen stuff? I've been using those diapers since my daughter was born and that's never happened. One of them has a bit of a fray on the edge, but definitely no holes. I wash them every 2-3 days, but have never used any oxygen bleach or anything like that, just detergent.
How are you storing the dirty diapers while you're waiting for them to be picked up?

I wonder about the oxygen booster too. I never used anything like that when I washed my own with DD2. I store the dirtied diapers in a dry pail with a wet bag pail liner. They are picked up once a week. So it's not like they are being washed to often. I just found another diaper fleece with bamboo snap in booster. The bamboo side of the booster is now thread bare. Like the tooth of the fabric is gone. Luckly is was used when I purchased it.

Were your diapers all bought used? Diapers do eventually fall apart...

I'd guess it's the oxygen booster as well. When I started using oxygen bleach on my diapers twice a month, some of my used prefolds started getting holes in them, and they were in fine condition before. I supposed even oxygen cleaner can be really harsh on the diapers?

I Use

I use a lot of oxygen booster. My soap has it, and I add more. Everything I've read suggests that it does not weaken fabric.

I would call Bummis. When I had some snaps pop off two of my covers they replaced them immediately and wanted the lot numbers so they could investigate. Your diapers may have just been part of a lot that had weaker threads.
