In this thread please list online sources for sling and baby wrap information.

No spamming your own shop, please.

If you are a commercial site with information that you are willing to allow MDC to host, please contact me via PM. In other words, we would like to use your photos to build our on-site information. Look here to see what we are trying to build:
Diapering Resources, our model

http://www.peppermint.com has good information, including some nice pictures demonstrating how to use a wrap-around style sling.

In addition to the above:

She has a sling choice guide, comparison charts and good photos of how to wear your baby.

Well I get alot of my info here on MDC

But also here and here when I wanted more detailed info on a specific type of sling/carrier.

Like the above poster I found the kangaroo korner website to be very helpful.

Well most of the sites I frequent have already been mentioned. I want to also add the Baby Bargains Board. They are a wonderful resource. If it werent for that board I would have never bought my first sling.

I have learned a lot from the babywearing group on Yahoo. I"d say that's my primary source of babywearing information.

here's one I haven't seen mentioned.

I noticed on the diapering site there is a "lingo" section. There are lots of abbreviations for baby wearing as well.

These are in no particular order:

KK - Kangaroo Korner
KKAFP- Kangaroo Korner Adjust. FleecePouch
KKACP - Kangaroo Korner Adjust. Cotton Pouch
MW- Maya Wrap
MWP - Maya Wrap Pouch
ABC - Asian Baby Carrier
EBMT - Equiminity Baby Mei Tai
T2T- Tummy to tummy
TMT- Taylor Made Treasures
didy - didymos
BBT- Baby Back Tie

If I think of more I will get back to you

Oh thanks! Jmunch is working on a list of abbreviations for our resources section. I'll point her to your list. THanks!!

Here are some of the links I've collected regarding sewing your own slings:

http://www.mayawrap.com/sewSling.shtml
Basic mayawrap sewing instructions

http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/inde...aby/sling.html
Sewing a pleated sling - much easier on the back!

http://www.slingmemommy.com/
Sewing a gathered sling - easier to sew than the pleated one, and works just as well!

I just counted fourteen links in my "slings" folder, and can add more to this list later!

I have a list on my site that you're welcome to snag: http://www.pookababy.com/101/slang.html This list is also maintained on thebabywearer.com and the Yahoo! babywearing group, and I try to update all three whenever I see a new acronym appear on the scene.
