Looking for creative ideas for healthy treat for school bday party - Page 2

There are lots of healthy muffins you could make--apple, banana, carrot, whatever.

For dd's bday parties (she has severe food allergies) we always do a rainbow fruit platter--basically a big rectangular platter with "stripes" of fruit from every color of the rainbow, e.g., watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, honeydew or kiwi, blueberries, halved purple grapes. It looks gorgeous.

You could pair that with say, hummus and whole wheat pita triangles for dipping, or string cheese.

As the mom of another food-allergic kid, I do have to say I would love a non-food treat in place of or in addition to the snacks. Dd has special treats kept at school for birthdays, but it's always nice when she can actually share in what the kids are having.

I love the ladybug bagel idea...although I'm having a really hard time visualizing it...(I'm SO not a visual person...) Any pic links? Or description?

Loving all of the ideas, actually...the rainbow fruit and skewer ideas are wonderful!

I sent bagels cut into fourths for my dd's healthy treat music parties at her school. Popcorn and grapes are also a big hit with kids at the different parties they had.

My kids love this, but it can be messy:

Cut bananas in half. Put a popsicle stick in the banana and dip the banana in yogurt (they like strawberry). Roll it in crushed cereal (nuts can also be good, but I see you said no nuts). This would probably have to be done at the school right before you served them to keep the cereal from being soggy. Or you could dip the bananas in melted dark chocolate and let them harden.
