unexplained weight loss

What could be causing unexplained weight loss?
From July to now I have lost 15lbs.
Beginning in May I had terrible nausea and dizziness, felt like I was having anxiety attacks. I have PCOS/insulin resistance and tried to "fix" it with diet and exercise but my blood sugar was way out of wack, 121 fasting, 150 2 hours post meals. I started Metformin in July. The dizziness went away and most of the nausea. Then I started having horrible reflux and the weight started coming off despite eating more than I have in a long time. Eating and burping help the nausea feel better. They did an endoscope thinking it was an ulcer caused by H pylori. It wasn't.
I caved and started taking prilosec after an endoscope showed esophogus errosions and lots of inflamation in my stomach. There was also a small hyatial hernia. They just ran a celiac panel and TSH thinking it may be my thyroid. Those came back normal (I haven't seen the lab report but will get it soon)

Could it just be the metformin and cutting out junk food and sweets?

Should I have them check for anything else?

I wouldn't worry about it but I look like a skeleton and and have lost 12% of my body weight in 2-3 months.

Thanks in advance.

So sorry you're having to deal with all this!

Edited:
I just reread your post about this being 12% your body weight. I feel kind of silly having missed that. You've already done the tests that I would have done, thyroid and celiac. Though I'd ask for the whole thyroid panel, and not just TSH. But TSH is a good starting point.

Are you seeing an endocrinologist? Or just obgyn for PCOS? Sometimes they have better info, but of course, it all depends on a person.

I'm going to think about this a bit more, i feel like I'm forgetting something here. If I think of it, I will let you know.

I agree you should get the T4 and T3 tested as well. My doctor said T4 and T3 are more accurate indicators of thyroid function.

Does your heart pump fast? Are you heat intolerant?
