'I will Survive' by Cake (their version is funnier than the original and never fails to cheer me up). Mimim, I love 'Crown of Love' too!

I almost posted the Cake version of I will survive the other day. Crown of Love is such a great song and the lyrics are sooooo creepy. I carved your name across my eyelids?!?

woohoo a music sharing thread!! How'd I miss this one for all these months! I am a huge fan of music as a whole so I can def. share some favorites :) please excuse me if I post too much ;)

Basically anything by Sara Bareilles is awesome but I like these ones a lot-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZMQ0OKVO80 (2 songs here-make sure you listen through to the second one!) warning f-word used so earmuff your kids if they're around :)

this one is just beautiful, doesn't really sing to my situation 100% but it still makes me weepy eyed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_hEbu92HYY&feature=related

I think Sara wrote this one for me actually :) thanks Sara, love it! -  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR7-AUmiNcA

this one picks me up and sings to me a LOT... well minus the smoking crack and driving drunk part I guess! still a cool song though :)

earmuffs on this one too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsbHGEB6UU&ob=av2e

ok and I found this the other day, not a break up song but will make you smile and want to dance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMDqkBjvdMg

It makes me glad and sad at the same time that there are so many of these songs. Common human condition and all.

Love this thread!!!  <3

The number one song that got me through my abusive relationship with my kids' Dad, is Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked.  The end of the song can still choke me up.

Recently, it took awhile, and for a couple of months I could only listen for about 10-30 seconds of this one and would have to turn it... now I can get through the whole thing and it helps keep things into persepctive.  Best Thing I Never Had by Beyonce

And my new theme song... A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans

I should stay away from this thread. I'm only about 90% over the break up that prompted me to start it and it makes me focus on that remaining 10% too much.

aw I am sorry. I have listened to that song since I was a little girl.

Lol, not your fault. The Cranberries song was sad in a good way. The real mistake I made was scrolling up and listening to Bellbottom Blues again, which describes perfectly the way that I felt for sooo long (notice the date on the OP). Man, am I glad that I don't have the urge to crawl across the floor begging to be taken back any more, but it still disgusts me that I ever felt like that.
