yes it can have everything to do with low weight gain, was your baby an april or august baby - it may still be worth getting done - especially if you are in pain. I'd check out your options and then make the decision - you may find someone willing to do it without a general anesthetic.

April. She's 5.5 months old. I wonder if I ask the pediatrician at her 6 month appt if I'll get anywhere.

My guy was 2 mos when we had his clipped w just a topical and a local. There were 2 of us holding him down, but it really didnt take long at all.
