This seems a bit odd to me...

A few days ago (maybe a week) my DS (10mo) starting snorting. I mean really snorting, making strange noises and doing it so hard he coughs sometimes afterward snorting. His nose does not seem to be running, so i don't think it's the sniffles or something (do babies even sniffle?) but I am not sure if this is just a normal stage thing or what. My mom said neither of us did it as babies, but someone else told me their baby boy snorted too. Mom thinks he swallowed or snorted something and is trying to work it out. he does not seem in pain and only coughs when he snorts too much. Any ideas?

DD is almost 11 months, and a few days ago she started doing this really weird quick-breath-in noise. It kinda sounds like someone having an asthma attack and trying to breathe. She does it a few times and ends up in a coughing fit. Scared the crap out of me at first, but she just laughs at herself, so I think she's exploring new sounds and sensations. May be the same for your LO...

Yes, I too would think that it is just exploring new sounds and sensations, my DD will definitely experiment when she finds a new sound, screeching and screaming for awhile before she gets tired of it, so fun
