Inexpensive plastic pentatonic recorder?

Is there such a thing? I am looking for an inexpensive (meaning around $20 since that is what I could get a Yamaha soprano recorder for) plastic (to combat spit build up) pentatonic recorder. Has anyone found a source for this?

I was curious about the difference between a plain old recorder and a penatonic one. I googled it, and this discussion came up...

Thanks for the old thread, I had seen it and found it helpful. I didn't see any discussion of an inexpensive pentatonic flute. If I can't find one I'll get a $20ish plastic Yamaha soprano english c scale flute but I'd prefer a pentatonic one.

I looked at the Lark in the Morning website...it looks like they carry one but are sold out.

The Native American flute looks interesting, maybe too difficult for little ones? I wonder if I could tape the 6th hole closed to make it always a pentatonic flute? One of the reviews made me think maybe there are different things that can be called pentatonic (i.e. anything with 5 notes, I suppose) and I was hoping for something at least in the realm of Waldorf.
The ones I saw at Lark in the Morning were around $45, is that what you were referring to?

FWIW, you can get plastic Yamaha soprano C-scale recorders (not sure if that's what you're talking about when you say flute) for well under $20 on amazon.com. We ordered some earlier this year, and are happy with the quality.

ugh, yes I mean recorder
These ones on Amazon are the ones I will get if I can't find a pentatonic one that is similar in price.
I've emailed Lark in the Morning to find out if the alto tuned to C is out of stock for long. They also have http://larkinthemorning.com/products/rec098 a soprano one but it's key of F and I've heard that C is more common (?)
I think I'll go with it, though, if the C one is out of stock for long. Also the C is alto and the F is soprano and I've heard that soprano C is the most common...
AND since this is a one piece recorder how am I going to be able to clean it? Perhaps back to the Amazon 2 piece soprano C baroque is the way to go after all...
