All period symptons but no period

Hi, I have been trying to TTC for about a year now and nothing has happened. I am getting ALL the symptoms, the cramps, the lower back pain, PMS and hunger. Also this month I seem to be getting really sore breasts that's last for almost a week now. The only symptom I don't have is the actual period. I took a pregnancy test a few days ago the one that detects 5 days earlier and it came back negative. Has this happened to anyone? Any insight as to what the heck my body is doing? My symptoms started on Monday but the sore breast stared on Saturday.

When was your period due to arrive? Do you know when you ovulated? Some people don't get a positive preg test until much later than others - it depends on how much HCG you produce.

Do you have a chart that we can look at?

Hi LivingSky, according to the 28 day cycle, I was supposed to have my period last week. The last time I had my period was August 1st and the time before that I got it in May (twice) I have been taking thyroid medication since June because according to my doctor I have a hypothyroid. So they have me on medication which should get my periods back on track. Which it feels like I am but nothing is coming. I have also tried using the ovulation kits but they are no help, when I was ovulating it still came back negative so I gave up on those...So I just tell my husband every few days we try and hopefully something grabs.

If your OPKs are coming back negative, and without temps to go by, I'd guess that maybe being on new medications (and the stress of TTC, or of regular life) might have made you ovulate later than normal, which would push your period back. I'd wait a while longer and see what happens - I know, easier said than done! Maybe start temping and charting (this cycle or next) so you'll have a better idea if and when you actually ovulate.

Hi LisaB! I have read about some women not getting their first BFP until a full week after their missed period, so you could just be a late tester. However, with only the calendar to go by, it's really hard to say since there's no way of knowing how many DPO you are. I would say if your period continues to be absent and your tests continue to be negative, make a doctor's appointment to see what the heck is going on.

Lots of luck to you!
