My 13 mo has reverted back to her newborn sleeping patterns. We cosleep and she had been doing pretty well, only waking up maybe 3 times, at most, to nurse. But the past couple of months, she been waking up every hour to an hour and a half wanting to nurse. Normally, this wouldn't really be a problem, since we've perfected the art of side by side nursing. In the past she would just latch on with me hardly noticing. But now she doing what my dh calls "musical nummies." She will nurse on one side for a minute or two then climb over me to the other side and then back again. This will happen for about 20 or so minutes before she passes back out. By this time, I'm wide awake and it takes me another 15 or 20 minutes to doze back off...just in time for her to wake up and do it all over again. I feel like I'm getting even less sleep now than when she was first born! I've tried wearing a t-shirt to prevent the musical nummies bit, but that causes DD to start screaming uncontrollably.

In the past I'd been in no hurry to night wean, but now I'm rethinking that...

Any ideas on why this is happening? It's happened briefly in the past during growth spurts, but it only lasted a week at most and it didn't involve musical nummies. This has been going on for close to 2 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
