BH or something else?

Yesterday (38+0 weeks), DH and I went for a rather long walk (3-4miles) around 3pm, then we came home and had sex around 7pm. We started a movie a little before 9pm. At 9pm I had a rather uncomfortable BH. Twenty minutes later, I had annother. The next one came 12 minutes later, then 5 minutes after that I had annother. We were watching a movie, and they remained at 5 minutes apart for the remainder of the movie, and got progressively more uncomfortable, to the point where I had a back ache similar to my period, but not down into my legs or anything. I could not find a comfortable position other than sitting up doing the "butterfly" stretch.

I ended up with a constant backache, with it worse durring a BH until I finally fell asleep around 1am. I woke periodically through the night, and they had moved around to my stomache. It felt similar to when someone rubs a muscle too hard.

This morning (up at 7am) I was still getting them about every 5 minutes or so, but they didn't hurt. Now (2pm) I'm just getting them when I move around.

Where these really BH contractions? Everything I've read says they shouldn't be painful, but this definitely was painful!

I'm drinking tons of water by the way.

Thanks!

definitely, call your care provider now.
No, BH should not be painful. And since your pains are regular, along with backache, could be "true" labor. Please call!!
good luck!!

duh-I just realized the forum I'm in, sorry about that!!
BUT I think you might be in labor, so it might be time to hunker down.

haha!

Do you still think this is "true" labor even though I'm currently only getting BH if I move around.... I've been getting them when I move around for several weeks now....

DH works 11hr days until Monday night... Hoping it waits until then! We really didn't think that walking and sex would do anything! Oops!

Well hopefully you're busy with birthing your new babe Otherwise how are you feeling? It could be true labor. I've had some pretty intense BH but my actual labors always just hit me.

Honestly, I had consistent for a few hours painful braxton hicks that were around 5 or so minutes apart off and on for around 2 weeks before I went into labor with my second. So, if things slowed down, I'd say it was that only. But, if things slowed down, it's still a sign that you're getting towards the end.

dayiscomming2006 - 2 weeks of that! YUCK! I sure hope not!

Well, no baby yet, so it must have just been "false" labor. Baby has not engaged yet and is still in LOP/OP, but mostly LOP.

Thanks!

ETA:  Went into labor at 40W5D.
