Not every bathroom can be like Neiman's

The Neiman Marcus here in Tampa has just about the best set-up I've seen yet for changing diapers. There's a separate diaper changing nook, as well as a super huge ladies room with vanity counter tops that can double as a changing table.

I part-time EC and was able to wheel my daughter's stroller in the handicapped stall, pee her in the sink in there, as well as tinkle myself!

I'm a new mom and DD is 2 months and so far some public restrooms have left a lot to be desired. Nasty changing tables, NO changing table (Starbucks!), or a changing table that is inappropriately placed and in the way of other patrons.

I never really paid attention to the "Koala Care" or whatever changing table signs that are out there. It's still way to hot out to change DD in the backseat of the car.

BTW, I seldom shop at Neiman's, just park near there so that I can fondle the $2,000 handbags and use their bathroom!

That is fantastic! ECing in public, amazing!
Here in Sao Paulo, my local mall has a changing room with an attendant, a room for nursing, lots of changing stations that the attendant cleans after each baby... I don't love having an area "for" nursing and don't use it, but I love a clean, cushioned changing area for my baby! So many places we go here don't even have counter space for diaper changes!

Yep, the lack of a place to set down your purse, let alone your baby, let's me know in no uncertain terms the gender of who designed the bathroom, haha!

I also nurse in the Neiman's bathroom, not because I enjoy nursing in a bathroom, but because it's clean, comfortable, and quiet. I'd rather not nurse in front of the creepy old dudes who sit in the chairs in the mall corridor waiting on their wives to get done shopping.

I actually have slightly more success EC'ing in public than I do at home because of timing between activities. It's weird.

Nice setup, but it's gross that she peed in the sink.

Why? After I use the restroom, I wash my hands in the sink. Anything that might have gotten on my hands is now in the sink. (Not to mention whatever else might get on adult or kids hands)

I don't think it's gross at all. It's just a little baby!

Yeah, she's 2 months old, lol... I hold her over the sink to pee, that's the EC position we use right now. It's not like she was sitting on the edge of the sink peeing. I washed my hands with soap afterwards, so whatever was left washed away.

I can think of a lot nastier things that are in public bathroom sinks. Baby pee is nowhere near the top of the list.

Do you have a nordstrom near you? They always have a couch dubbed nursing central at any mall ive. Been to. Seriously, I make a beeline just to nurse in comfort.

I would too, but my LO now insists on nursing while I eat so I nurse there.

Hooray for cool bathrooms, OP!
