I recently came back from my doc and all thyroid tests are "normal" except for my Thyroid peroxidase antibodies-- 3 consecutive appointments they went from a 24 to a 38 to a 52. Im very concerned as I've developed hives at six weeks postpartum, and four months postpartum angioedema, dry eyes and mouth. ANA tests all came back negative as well as testing for other autoimmune diseases associated with the dry mouth and hives. I should mention that all tests were done at three different docs . . . two allergists and my regular doc. Regular doc thinks its postpartum related and should resolve itself. I'm concerned that the thyroid peroxidase antibodies may have been present during my pregnancy. Also, the first antibody result that measured at a 24 was performed while i was on a course of methylprednisone for the first outbreak--Could this have affected the results? I'm concerned for the baby and myself.
