Aqua Doula Experiences Only Please

Thread Starter
I am seriously considering renting an Aqua Doula, but since there aren't any local places that rent them, I would have to do it by mail. I would like to hear about what your experience was with an Aqua Doula. I see that many people like the inflatable pools, but I really don't think I can handle the smell since I am so super chemically sensitive and strong odors can set off my asthma. I am 5'10" so I understand that there would be plenty of room for me and my 6'8" DH. Last birth, we used an animal stock tank and I felt so trapped and couldn't move around or get comfortable.

Thanks so much

I like them. The hard sides are a plus for support--they're not going to collapse in on you if you lean on them. The depth is also nice. I don't have any complaints!

I used one for my 2nd birth, I disliked it. The floor was very uncomfortable to kneel on, it hurt my knees. I could lean over the sides because they were sturdy but once again they were uncomfortable, I wanted to rest my head but couldn't on the hard plastic. This won't be a problem for you since I am shorter, 5'5, but I was swimming in it, it was too big, I felt lost in space, once she was born I had an awful time keeping her face out of the water because I was shorter.

I also got mine by rental from AquaDoula, it was a very smooth process. My cat even damaged the liner and they overnighted me a new one.
