body warming up? or what?

I'm seeing my OB next week, so I'll be talking to her about what's up.

I am wondering if this is my body already warming up?
But I'm not due with #2 until Nov 7. I don't know what's up because I had nothing like this with DS-though I had to be induced at 37 weeks, so don't know how my body will labor naturally.

-For the last week or so, I have been having lots of twinges. It's just a flash of cramps down quite low, so uncomfortable it always stops me and I have to wait until it passes. But it's confusing because it literally only lasts for seconds, so I can't call them contractions...right? And in no regular pattern. This often comes with a feeling of tightness, though not a "wave-like" tightening like I felt when I had BH with my son. The tightening tends to continue after the cramping passes.
-I have also had greatly increased abdominal pressure-again mostly down low, in the pubic bone and tailbone areas.
-I've had, like most this far along, a low backache for months. It's a little more intense. It only gets really bad when I overdo it, which unfortunately is pretty frequently. Today the cramping and back pain was enough on the way home from my usual walk to meet DH(about 3 miles) I finally decided I NEED to stop walking out to meet him I love that walk! The tailbone pressure was especially bad-and I am reeeally hoping to not have another back labor.

then 2 nights ago I had uncomfortable cramps for over an hour. I called my OB and she first said go to labor and delivery. But the nurse asked me a few more questions-I had been sure I was just having a stomach bug-and in the end my OB said take Mylanta. There were symptoms I might have taken for preterm labor if they'd lasted, but next day was back to normal, with just the on and off cramping and backache.

Does any of that sound like *anything* you all have had leading up to labor? Thank you!

I don't think I'd say that a low backache for months is exactly normal, especially if you walk 3miles often. Some of what you report does sound normal for pregnancy, some sounds not-normal, *almost* 'pre-term-y'. But then again, maybe it's all in your descriptors that aren't getting through to me quite right.

Do you see a chiropractor or craniosacral therapist? Maybe you need some adjusting generally that can help you get more comfortable. Both forms of treatment, especially if chiro is trained in Webster Technique, can be enormously helpful to pregnant women.
