2oz?

Thread Starter
If you weigh baby before and after a feed and she's gained 2oz, does that mean she drank 2oz of breastmilk? I mean, really, this seems like a silly question, but I just wanted to check to be sure. And is 2oz from one breast a good amount for a 4wk old?
Also, how slow is too slow for weight gain? E was 7.9 at birth, but H had IV fluids like mad the whole labor (32 hrs), so some of that was probably water weight... she was 6.14 when we left the hospital and now, one month later, is 7.12. Is that too slow? The pediatrician doesn't seem too concerned, but I don't want to be depriving her of growth, and I keep thinking there will come a moment when the pedi will all of a sudden freak out and panic...
A little reassurance? Thanks!

2oz is a good amount for such a young baby. They have very, very tiny tummies.

Here's avg weight gain for babies http://kellymom.com/babyconcerns/gro...ight-gain.html

My midwife said that this is the method for determining how much milk a baby's drunk after BFing, maybe not down to the milliliter, but approximately.
