At 42 weeks today, our baby girl arrived 6:00am on the dot. I woke up in labor at 3:50am this morning and she arrived 2 hours and 10 minutes later. She is our biggest baby at 8 lb 14 oz and 21.75 in.
It was an quick and powerful labor. My sister Eve did a great job as my doula and really helped me get past any doubts and fears that crept up. Once I got into the warm birth pool, it became much easier to deal with the increasingly strong contractions
It was amazing to be able to clearly feel the baby moving down the birth canal and be so aware of what was happening. I was surprised when pushing time came because it all happened so fast. She was out in just a few pushes.
We used the same midwife for the home birth who also attended my middle daughter's birth and she was wonderful. Both girls woke up in time to see their sister born and my 2 year old was especially enthralled by the birth. She made sure to tell me what sounds I made and how the baby came down and out. My older daughter got to cut the umbilical cord.
Chloe is such a sweet calm girl. She is nursing like a champ and well loved by her sisters.
