staying in downtown St. Louis?

We are visiting the area later this month and we had planned on camping but my 5 year old has a cast on his arm and we have decided to stay in a hotel instead. Can you recommend a downtown hotel, preferably with a pool and under $200/night?

We will be going to a Cardinals game, the zoo, City Museum, and the Science Center.

Thanks so much.

Off the top of my head, I think the hotel at Lumierre Place Casino is very nice AND affordable and probably offers some nice ammenities such as dining and transportation. The Millenium is right near the Cardinals stadium and has an amazing view of the Arch and riverfront, although I'm unsure of their rates.

I'm partial to the Drury hotels and the Drury Plaza is downtown. I'm not sure of their rates though. It's been quite a while since I last stayed there.

The Drury Hotels are where my ILs always stay when they come into town. There are three Drury locations downtown - the convention one is the least nice. The Union Station one is pretty great and has a nice pool and the Drury Plaza is similarly nice and is right by the Arch which is kinda neat.

great visit

I just wanted to come back here and say we had a great vacation in St. Louis. We ended up staying at Lumiere. It was a really nice hotel with plenty of space for the 5 of us. All the rooms there are suites. We had 2 tvs which my kids enjoyed plus a fold out bed in the living area. There were plenty of food options nearby as well.

All the places we visited were fun but City Museum was absolutely the best, most unique museum we had ever seen. My kids would LIVE there if they could. We also went to the zoo--much better than the one here in Indianapolis, Science Center, Cardinals game, and even went up in the arch before we left. That was a first for all of us.
