My four year old has complained a few times that it burns when she pees...as far as I can remember, it's only happened after swimming and USUALLY if she's gone swimming late one day, slept, then gotten up and going swimming in the morning without a shower in between. I try not to let this happen but often my husband will announce at six that he wants to swim and by the time they get in, she's exhausted and out before I get a chance to clean her up, then he gets up and swims with her early the next morning (this is almost always a Friday afternoon/Saturday morning issue). Yes, I know, that needs to just not happen.
Our pool is chlorinated but the chemical levels are checked daily. Nothing is high. Could this just be an irritation issue due to not getting showered? I HATE dragging her to the doctor over this and their answer will no doubt be a. tests and b. antibiotics which she never keeps down anyway. She has no fever, no other symptoms, and it did not burn when she urinated this morning.
Anyone else have this issue?
