DD used to be terrible with teeth, but it's not optional here. She really likes the Weleda tooth gel for children. I get her to say "aaaaaa" and "eeeeeee" to open her mouth and then close her teeth so I can do the front ones.
When she would fight it, it was actually better when she screamed because it would open her mouth. This is one of the few things that we would force because IMO it's better to force the brushing than have potentially painful cavities and surgery.
